Seven Springs & Laurel Highlands events 2026–27

Plan by season
Each season has its own guide — what’s on, which dates are open, and how the house works for it.
The calendar
Every dated event we track near the mountain, starting from today — resort events, nearby festivals, light-up nights and holiday markets. Pick a day to see what’s on, and the booking link opens the calendar with those dates already filled in.

Dates come from each organizer’s published 2026–27 schedule or the Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau calendar. Anything marked “dates approx.” follows its usual pattern and hasn’t been confirmed for this year — check the linked details before planning a day around it.
Season by season
The same events, grouped the way people actually plan: a fall weekend, a holiday trip, or a ski week.
Now – early November
Color is on its back half by late October and the calendar turns to Halloween — haunted trails, the last HallowBOO! days at Idlewild, trick-or-treat in Ligonier and the Somerset County towns, and a masquerade dinner and cocktail crawl at the resort on Halloween night. Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so the weekend is the trip.

Good to know
This weekend (Oct 23–25) the calendar has: Idlewild's HallowBOO!; Crawford School of Terror; Chad’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch; Haunted Hollow; Halloween Party at the Foggy Goggle; Haunted Halloween Tales at Compass Inn Museum; Open House Fall Festival at Greendance Winery; Pumpkin & Spice Festival; LH Pour Tour's Bonfires, Barrels & Brews. The calendar on this page always starts from today, so it is the quickest way to check what’s coming up — every listing links through to the organizer for times and tickets.
On the resort itself: a Halloween party at the Foggy Goggle (Oct 24), Halloween night with Helen’s Masquerade Dinner and a cocktail crawl through the Main Lodge (Oct 31), a Thanksgiving Day buffet (Nov 26), and then the ski season, which has opened on Dec 6 in each of the last two years. Around the mountain the calendar fills with light-up nights and holiday markets from mid-November, ice-sculpture festivals in Somerset and Ligonier in January, and Somerset County maple weekends in March. Every dated event is in the calendar on this page.
December is light-up season. Overly’s Country Christmas runs select evenings at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds through Dec 30, and Nemacolin’s Hardy’s Holiday Village runs through Dec 31. Ligonier has the Let’s Get Ready to Crumble cookie crawl on Dec 5 and the Historical Society’s Festival of Lights, which typically lands the first weekend of the month; Compass Inn Museum in nearby Laughlintown runs candlelit holiday tours Dec 12–13. On the mountain, the ski season usually opens in the first week of December — and the house is open for the pre-Christmas weeks and for Christmas itself, Dec 23–27.
The resort hasn’t announced a date yet. Seven Springs opened on Friday, Dec 6 in 2024 and Saturday, Dec 6 in 2025, and OnTheSnow projects Dec 5 for this season — but the real date depends on cold enough nights for snowmaking, so check 7springs.com from late November. If you want more of the mountain open when you arrive, a mid-December weekend gives the snowmaking a head start.
December — the opening weeks, the quiet stretch before Christmas, and Christmas week (Dec 23–27) — then early-February weekdays and the first half of March, which lines up with the Somerset County maple weekends. The booking windows on this page open the calendar with dates already filled in. One planning note if you ski on Epic Day Passes: the restricted versions aren’t valid Nov 27–28 or Dec 26–31.
The resort events are a free shuttle ride away. Ligonier — Light Up Ligonier, the Festival of Lights, trick-or-treat — and Idlewild are both about 40 minutes. Somerset is about 15 miles, and Compass Inn Museum in Laughlintown is in the Ligonier Valley too. Pittsburgh’s Light Up Night is about an hour. Greensburg, home to Overly’s and The Westmoreland, and Nemacolin in Farmington are the long end of the list — plan them as an evening out rather than a quick stop.
Most are taken straight from the organizer’s published 2026–27 schedule, and every listing links to its source. A few — marked “dates approx.” — follow the event’s usual pattern because this year’s date isn’t out yet: the ski opening, Ligonier’s Festival of Lights and Ice Fest among them. Organizers do move and cancel things, so check the linked details before you plan a day around one.
Sixteen-plus, across three bedrooms, a den and a kids’ bunk loft, with 3 full and 2 half baths. There’s a full kitchen, a wet bar, big-screen TVs, a vaulted great room and a private hot tub on the deck that runs year-round — on the resort at Seven Springs, with the free resort shuttle to the lifts and the Main Lodge.
