How do we get from the house to the slopes?+
Mountain Haven is on the resort property at Mt. Villas, and the slopes are reached by the free resort shuttle — a short ride, not a walk from the door. The shuttle loops the property during the winter season; confirm the current stops and times at the front desk or on 7springs.com when you arrive, since routes vary by season. It's also just a few minutes' drive if you'd rather take your own car.
Do we need an Epic Pass, or can we buy lift tickets?+
Both work. Seven Springs is a Vail Resorts mountain on the Epic Pass (the Epic and Epic Local passes cover it, and it shares access with nearby Hidden Valley and Laurel Mountain). If you don't have a pass, you can buy daily lift tickets, and booking online in advance is usually cheaper than at the window.
Where do we rent gear and book lessons?+
Seven Springs has a large rental shop in the main lodge with skis, snowboards, boots, and helmets, plus a ski-and-ride school offering private and group lessons for kids and adults. Reserve rentals and lessons online ahead of time to skip the morning line; Epic Pass holders get a discount on both.
Is there snow tubing for non-skiers?+
Yes. The on-site snow tubing park is the largest in the region, with lift-served lanes (a Magic Carpet conveyor pulls you back up) sold in two-hour sessions. It's open to ages 10 and up, no skiing skill required, and select nights host Tube-A-Palooza evening sessions.
Can we dry boots and gear at the house?+
Yes — there's a dedicated boot- and shoe-drying area, so plan to dry boots, gloves, and base layers overnight and everything's warm for the next morning. Lay items near a heat source or air vent (not directly on it), and stuff damp boots with newspaper to pull out moisture. There's also space to store skis and boards out of the way between days.
When is ski season here?+
The Laurel Highlands ski season typically runs roughly December through mid-to-late March, with Seven Springs averaging around 135 inches of snow a year plus extensive snowmaking. Early and late season conditions depend on weather, so check the live lift and terrain status on 7springs.com before you head out.
