Mountain Haven sits on the resort property at Mt. Villas, part of Seven Springs in Champion, PA: 33 trails across 285 skiable acres, about 750 feet of vertical, and 10 lifts including two high-speed six-packs. Ride the free resort shuttle to the base, carve groomers, lap one of seven terrain parks, or spend two hours at the largest snow tubing park in the region. Then come home to a vaulted lodge with a wet bar, big screens, and a hot tub steaming under the trees. Epic Pass sister mountains Hidden Valley and Laurel Mountain are both within about half an hour.

The 2026–27 season
What’s new on the mountain this winter
Seven Springs spent the off-season on lifts and snowmaking. Here’s what changes for 2026–27, and the dates worth putting in your calendar now.
New this season
- Blitzen lift: the 1975 triple chair is being replaced with a new Doppelmayr fixed-grip quad (about 33% more uphill capacity), and its top terminal moves roughly 400 feet downhill for easier access to Lost Boy and the North Face.
- About 3,000 feet of aging snowmaking pipe swapped for new steel pipe.
- A new Park Pro snowcat for the terrain parks, plus a new haul rope and grips on the Cortina chair.
- Lift tickets are capped each day and popular days sell out. Buying online ahead is cheaper than the window, and unused tickets are refundable.
- Night skiing starts at 3 p.m. and runs all season.
- The resort is cashless, so bring a card for tickets, lunch and everything else.

Epic Passes, including the 1-to-7-day Epic Day Pass, come off sale in early December (last season’s cutoff was Dec 4), and 2026–27 prices have already gone up three times since spring. Vail hasn’t posted this season’s exact cutoff yet, so buying by Thanksgiving is the safe play.

This winter the house is open for December, from the opening weeks through Christmas week (Dec 23–27); early-February midweek (Feb 1–4 and Feb 7–11); and March 1–15 for spring skiing. Each card opens the calendar with the dates already filled in.

Because Mountain Haven is right on the resort property, your morning is a quick hop on the free resort shuttle to the base, with no circling the day lots. Drop boots in the drying area the night before, and you’re clicking in while day-trippers are still parking.
Lift tickets are capped each day this season, so book them online before you come. When the lifts close, the mountain keeps going: night skiing and two-hour snow tubing sessions keep the non-skiers in your group just as busy.

The slopes are half the trip. Mountain Haven is the other half: a two-story lodge with a wet bar, big screens, and a full kitchen, so 16+ can refuel, dry out, and settle in for the night together.

When does Seven Springs open for the 2026–27 season?+
Seven Springs lists Friday, Dec. 4, 2026 as its first day on the slopes, weather permitting, since opening day always depends on cold enough nights for snowmaking. Last season the resort opened Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025. Sister mountains follow: Hidden Valley's ticket calendar starts Dec. 12 and Laurel Mountain's Dec. 19. Which winter dates are open at Mountain Haven?+
Three stretches this ski season: December, from the opening weeks through Christmas week (Dec. 23–27); early-February midweek (Feb. 1–4 and Feb. 7–11, 2027); and March 1–15 for spring skiing. December weekends and Christmas week go first. The February midweek dates are the easiest to get, and March brings longer days and softer snow before the season wraps in mid-March. Can we ski right to the door?+
No, and we'd rather you know that up front. Mountain Haven is on the resort property at Mt. Villas, but it isn't on a trail. You get to the lifts on the free resort shuttle, which stops right at Mt. Villas and runs to the base area, Main Lodge and snow tubing park. Or it's a few minutes' drive if you'd rather take your own car. Shuttle times vary by season, so grab the current schedule when you arrive. The day lots are free, and there's a paid preferred lot near the Ski Lodge on busy days.
When do Epic Passes go off sale, and which ones cover Seven Springs?+
Epic Passes, including the 1-to-7-day Epic Day Pass, come off sale in early December; last season's cutoff was Dec. 4, and Vail hasn't posted this season's exact date yet, so buy by Thanksgiving to be safe. Where do we rent gear and book lessons?+
Seven Springs' rental center stocks Rossignol skis and Burton snowboards; ski packages include skis, boots, poles and a helmet. Reserve online ahead to save off the walk-up rate and skip the morning line. The ski-and-ride school runs group lessons for kids 3–6 and 7–15 and adults 16+, plus private lessons. Book in advance. Pass holders get 20% off group lessons and rentals through Epic Mountain Rewards.
Is there snow tubing for non-skiers?+
Yes. Seven Springs runs the largest snow tubing park in the region, in two-hour sessions: slide a lane, ride the Magic Carpet back up, repeat. Riders must be at least 42 inches tall, tubing isn't included with the Epic Pass, and capacity is limited, so buy tickets online ahead. The park reopens in December.
Can we ski at night?+
Yes. Night skiing and riding at Seven Springs starts at 3 p.m. and runs all season. Night tickets are cheaper online than at the window, and rentals can be used at night and returned to the main rental center afterward.
Can we dry boots and gear at the house?+
Yes, there's a dedicated boot- and shoe-drying area, so plan to dry boots, gloves, and base layers overnight and everything's warm for the next morning. Lay items near a heat vent (not directly on it), and stuff damp boots with newspaper to pull out moisture. There's also space to store skis and boards out of the way between days.
