Why midweek
The smartest week of the ski season
Same mountain, same snow, same house. Move the trip off the weekend and almost everything gets easier.
Weeknight rates, often around half the weekend’s
Sunday-through-Thursday nights are priced well below Friday and Saturday, often around half. The cards above show the live gap for each open week, worked out from this winter’s actual calendar rates.

4 ski days
From one Sunday-to-Thursday stay
Shorter lift lines
Weekends bring the day-trip crowd. Monday to Thursday the lift lines are shorter and the slopes are quieter.
The whole house to your group
Three bedrooms plus a den and a bunk loft, 3 full and 2 half baths, a full kitchen and a private hot tub. Sleeps 16+.
A free shuttle to the lifts
The free resort shuttle stops at Mt. Villas and runs to the base area and Main Lodge. Not ski-in/ski-out, but no hunting for parking either.

Work from the mountain
Log off at three. Ski under the lights.
A midweek trip doesn’t have to mean burning a week of vacation. High-speed wifi reaches every room, there’s a dedicated desk nook for focused work, and the big dining table and quiet bedrooms cover the calls.
Seven Springs runs night skiing from 3 p.m., so a working day can still end on the slopes. Check the resort’s night hours for your dates before you plan around them.
- High-speed wifi throughout the house
- A dedicated desk nook, plus quiet rooms for calls
- Night skiing at Seven Springs from 3 p.m.
- The hot tub on the deck once the laptop closes
Epic Northeast Midweek Pass
A midweek pass for a midweek trip
Epic’s Northeast Midweek Pass covers Monday through Friday at Seven Springs, Hidden Valley and Laurel Mountain. Those are exactly the days a Sunday-to-Thursday stay puts you on the mountain. Arrive Sunday evening, then ski Monday through Thursday on the pass.
Epic Passes come off sale in early December (last season’s cutoff was Dec 4), so buying by Thanksgiving is the safe play. Check epicpass.com for current prices and any holiday restrictions before you plan Christmas week around a midweek pass.
A sample week
Sunday to Thursday at Mountain Haven
Four nights, four ski days. Here’s how a midweek trip from the house tends to run. Swap in whatever your group likes.
Day 1 · Sunday
Drive up as the weekend drives home
Arrive while the weekend crowd heads down the mountain. Groceries in, boots in the drying area, first soak in the hot tub.
Day 2 · Monday
First chair, short lines
Ride the free shuttle from Mt. Villas to the base. Non-skiers can book a two-hour snow tubing session online (42 in. minimum).
Day 3 · Tuesday
A second mountain
Hidden Valley (26 trails, 20–25 minutes away, ticket calendar starting Dec 12) is on the same Epic passes. Back for a big dinner in the full kitchen.
Day 4 · Wednesday
Work the morning, ski the night
Log in at the desk nook, then catch night skiing, which starts at 3 p.m. Hot tub after.
Day 5 · Thursday
Last laps, then home
Check out, park in the free day lots for a final morning on the hill, and be home before the Friday traffic.
Good to know
Midweek ski questions, answered
Is midweek cheaper at Seven Springs?+
At Mountain Haven, yes. Sunday-through-Thursday nights are priced well below Friday and Saturday, often around half the weekend rate, and the deal cards on this page show the live difference for each open week. Lift tickets are priced by the resort and vary by day; buy them online ahead, where they’re cheaper than the window. If you’ll ski several weekdays, Epic’s Northeast Midweek Pass covers Monday through Friday at Seven Springs, Hidden Valley and Laurel Mountain.
Are the lifts open midweek in December?+
Seven Springs lists Friday, Dec. 4 as its first day on the slopes for 2026–27, weather permitting, so midweek stays from the first full week of December fall inside the season. Early-season terrain depends on cold nights for snowmaking (the resort opens trails as conditions allow), so check live lift and trail status on 7springs.com before you drive up. Hidden Valley’s ticket calendar starts Dec. 12 and Laurel Mountain’s Dec. 19.
What about Christmas week?+
The Sunday-to-Thursday run before Christmas counts as a midweek stay. Its rates typically sit above early December’s but well below the Christmas weekend, and if it’s still open it shows up in the cards above. If you’re counting on a midweek pass that week, check its holiday restrictions at epicpass.com first. Staying through Christmas itself? See our Christmas page for the holiday stay.
Is Mountain Haven ski-in/ski-out?+
No, and we’d rather you know that up front. The house is on the resort property at Mt. Villas, but not on a trail. The free resort shuttle stops right at Mt. Villas and runs to the base area, Main Lodge and snow tubing park. It’s also a few minutes’ drive, and the day lots are free.
Can we work remotely from the house?+
Yes. High-speed wifi reaches every room, there’s a dedicated desk nook for focused work, and the dining table and quiet bedrooms handle calls and laptops. Night skiing at Seven Springs starts at 3 p.m., so a workday can still end on the slopes.
What’s the minimum stay midweek?+
Two nights. Thursday check-ins need three, and online bookings need about two days’ notice. A Sunday-to-Thursday stay is four nights; Monday-to-Thursday is three.
