Privacy policy

Mountain Haven is a privately owned vacation rental home at Mt. Villas, Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Champion, Pennsylvania, operated as a StaySpec property. This policy describes what information we collect through staymountainhaven.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions about anything here can go to hello@staymountainhaven.com.

When you send an inquiry, join our email list, or ask a question, we collect what you type into the form — typically your name, email address, your travel dates, group size, and your message. We use it to respond to you, hold a conversation about your stay, and (if you opted in) send occasional updates about the house. We do not sell this information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers listed below who help us run the site.

Reservations and payment are handled through our direct-booking system, which is operated by iGMS, and payments are processed by its payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Information you provide at checkout is also governed by iGMS’s privacy policy.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived (for example, from a search engine). Google Analytics sets cookies to do this.

We have enabled Google Analytics advertising features, including Google Signals. When enabled, Google may combine information about your visits here with data from your Google account (if you are signed in and have Ads Personalization turned on) to provide aggregated demographic and interest reports and cross-device insights. We only ever see this data in aggregate — never tied to you individually.

You can opt out several ways: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, adjust your Google ad settings, or review and delete activity via Google My Activity. For more on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

The chat widget on this site is an AI concierge that answers questions about the house and the area. Messages you send it are processed by an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude, hosted on Microsoft Azure) to generate a reply, and may be checked against our live availability and pricing to answer date questions. Please don’t share sensitive personal information in the chat — it isn’t needed to answer questions about your stay.

The site uses a small number of cookies: Google Analytics cookies (described above) and any cookies required by the embedded direct-booking widget to keep your reservation session working. We do not run third-party ad networks on this site. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings; the site works fine without analytics cookies.

Like most small businesses, we rely on a few services to run the site, and limited data passes through them for that purpose only: Microsoft Azure (website hosting), Google Analytics (site analytics, above), iGMS (booking and reservation management), Resend (transactional email — inquiry confirmations and booking messages), Anthropic on Microsoft Azure (the AI concierge), and Mapbox / OpenStreetMap (the interactive maps — your browser requests map imagery directly from them). Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and our instructions.

We keep inquiry and booking correspondence as long as needed to manage reservations and meet tax and legal record-keeping requirements. Analytics data is retained per our Google Analytics settings and only in aggregate form for reporting. If you’d like us to delete your inquiry information or unsubscribe you from emails, just ask at hello@staymountainhaven.com and we’ll take care of it.

This site is intended for adults planning a stay. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, contact us and we’ll delete it.

If we change how we collect or use information — for example, adding a new tool to the site — we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes won’t be applied retroactively to information collected under an earlier version.
